Even when your kids are pretty good at keeping their bedrooms tidy it’s one of those reoccurring issues that us parents never seem to get on top of.
If your children are small then they will have a long list of things they would rather be doing than putting their toys away so why not make it fun with our range of themed storage cubes?
If you have been following us for a while you will have seen the release of both the magic and space collection of storage boxes. We have now added the jungle selection to our range.
At thirty three centimetres, or thirteen inches, square these handy lidded boxes are deceptively roomy and perfect for all the bits and bobs kids accumulate.
It is useful to have a place to put the kind of toys that get under your feet downstairs in the lounge and these cheerful storage cubes are just the job.
Celebrate Twenty Five Years With Friends … and the launch of the new officially licensed bedding range.
This year, 2019, Friends celebrates it’s twenty fifth anniversary.
The pilot was aired on the 22nd of September 1994 in the Uk and after ten series of this iconic show millions of people tuned in to see the final episode which was shown here on the 28th of May 2004.
We all had a Friends character that we wanted to be and one that we thought we would most suit being with. For those of us who waited with baited breath to see the conclusion of each cliff hanger the last series was bitter sweet. Many of the loose ends were tied up but ultimately it meant there would be no more Friends.
Since then, however, it has become one of the most popular repeated shows on television and new generations are watching the six Friends with equal enthusiasm.
Obviously there are a whole host of fun facts attached to the show and it’s actors but here are a few of my favourites …
Eagle eyed viewers will have noticed that Monica’s apartment was originally number 5 and then became number 20 which had a knock on effect with the number of Joey and Chandler’s apartment number.
The young actor who played Ross’s son Ben in a handful of episodes, Cole Sprouse, later starred in The Suite Life With Zack And Cody with his twin brother and also by himself in Riverdale as Jughead Jones.
Courteney Cox was expecting her baby, Coco, during the filming of the final series but where as Lisa Kudrow’s pregnancy had been written in to the story line Courteney’s was not as the the show had already established that Chandler and Monica could not have their own child.
The show had such pulling power that it attracted many famous people to star in cameo roles some of who are listed here … Christina Applegate, Hank Azaria, Alec Baldwin, George Clooney, Jennifer Coolidge, Billy Crystal, Danny Devito, Morgan Fairchild, Jeff Goldblum, Jennifer Grey, Chissie Hynde, Hugh Laurie, Jon Lovitz, Elle Macpherson, Gary Oldman, Sean Penn, Brad Pitt, Freddie Prince Jr, Julia Roberts, Paul Rudd, Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Saunders, Tom Selleck, Charlie Sheen, Brooke Shields, Ben Stiller, Kathleen Turner, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Robin Williams, Bruce Willis, Reese Witherspoon and Noah Wyle.
Not forgetting Elliott Gould who had a permanent role as Ross and Monica’s father.
In addition the actor who played the father of Rachel’s boyfriend Joshua, in the episode when she accidentally ends up going to dinner in her underwear, is actually Matthew Perry’s dad John Bennett Perry.
So this is “The One With The 25th Anniversary Bedding Launch”.
We are joining in the anniversary fun with new officially licensed Friends bedding available now from our online shop in two styles and two sizes (single and double).

Although providing a safe and comfortable environment for our children to sleep in is important many of us can’t afford to keep redecorating as their tastes and ages change.
It is possible to update your child’s bedroom on a budget with a little forward planning using wall stickers.
If you choose a colour for the walls, bedding and curtains that your child is keen on you can buy generic accessories which will remain in the room each time you change the wall stickers.
A good base is key to the successful application of the stickers, and most manufacturers will provide you with guidelines to follow, but essentially you must make sure that freshly painted walls have had enough time to completely dry out before you apply your stickers or they will peel away. Remember that even if you run your fingers over the wall and it feels dry it actually takes much longer than you would think to be ready to decorate with the decals. The average time manufacturers recommend is around thirty days. Even the best quality decals can not stick to a wall which isn’t properly cured.
Now for the best part. There are no rules attached to how you set out your wall decals and you can have some fun here. You might want to create a scene using the characters in your pack or you might want to go for a random look. Your kids might even be old enough to decide for themselves where they want things to go.
There’s no need to feel daunted by a blank wall, a pack of stickers and an excited child. If you are stuck for inspiration cut round the stickers while they are still on the backing sheet, leaving enough of an edge round each one so you don’t cut in to the sticker itself, and have a practise run setting them out on the floor.
When you are ready to get started it’s a good idea to have a soft cloth on hand to smooth the sticker on to the wall and get rid of any air bubbles. With larger ones don’t peel the whole thing off the backing sheet and try to get it flat on to the wall instead peel away the top edge and smooth that on to the wall then slowly peel the backing sheet away, keeping it as close to the wall as you can, smoothing as you go.
Wall stickers labelled as removable and repositionable should come off your wall with out taking the paint off with them however it’s still advisable to give them a helping hand, especially if they have been in place for some time, by gently warming them with your hair dryer and then peeling the decal away slowly. Don’t use a craft heat gun or a decorating paint stripper gun for this as they are too hot.

Don’t rule out the use of wall stickers in a young teenager’s bedroom or even a spare room. Our Marvel Avengers range is a massive hit with kids of all ages and I’m keen on cheering up my own office with some wall decals too.
Following this method you could feasibly start with wall stickers in your toddler’s nursery and then revamp their bedroom two or three times through out their childhood by simply replacing the wall stickers and updating worn bedding.
Why not take a look at our range of Wall Stickers over on the Children’s Room shopping site.
As you can imagine we get to see quite a lot of bedding here at Children’s Rooms but every now and again something creates a real stir in the office … this is one of those times.
There is obviously a huge choice of unicorn bedding on the market so it’s fab to see a version that’s just that bit different … and the fun doesn’t stop with this legendary creature as the powerful T Rex bursts on to the scene in vibrant lime green.
If you have a fan of the undersea world in your household then why not go for the shark with it’s striking flash of red and bold blue?
Or the friendly narwhal which is often dubbed the unicorn of the sea. These magnificent porpoises live in Arctic coastal waters but our version is a little easier to find. The narwhal is particularly suitable for younger children and will give you a great starting point if you like to make up your own bedtime stories.
Finally we have the teddy bear and the cat which are two favourites.
The cat has been cleverly designed to make it fit in to a young teenager’s room as well as being suitable for a smaller child while the charming simplicity of the teddy bear gives it classic appeal.
Each pillow case is shaped to provide detail specific to the creature it represents and four of the duvet covers have additional accents, like feet or a tail. The reverse of each duvet cover features a repeat pattern appropriate to the over all design.

Getting children to go to bed can be a struggle. It can be even harder if their nursery is not set up properly to help them fall asleep. Here are some tips and tricks to help make your nursery a room that is more restful than it is now, to help both your toddler and yourself get more sleep. Remember, the better they nap, the better you nap.
Add Light Blocking Curtains
Many of the fabrics that make up our nursery are light and floaty, including those used to make baby curtains. Often, these curtains are beautiful, but they don’t do anything to keep light out of a room. The human body is designed to sleep when it is dark and be awake when it is light, so the light could be causing problems for their sleep schedule. In order to help your child nap when the sun is up, we recommend adding light-blocking curtains to their room.
If you love the curtains you already have, there are detachable linings that are easy to add to the back of your curtains that will block light and make the space more restful for your toddler.
At the end of the day, you wouldn’t want to sleep in an uncomfortable bed, and neither does your child. If they are struggling to sleep in their own bed, it might be because they are uncomfortable with their mattress or their blanket.
Figure out what textures they like to sleep under and check out the Children’s Room offerings to find the perfect blanket for them and their nursery design theme!
Toys: Out of Sight, Out of Mind
If you store your children’s toys in their rooms, they are going to be more tempted to play with them while they are supposed to be sleeping. To avoid this issue, put your child’s toys somewhere where they cannot see them from their bed or crib.
If you don’t have to a lot of storage space that’s out of sight, try putting them in bins or behind a screen where your child can’t see them.
Keep all electronics away from your child and their nursery for as long as possible. They should not be using your phone or tablet to play within three hours of their naptime or bedtime in order to help them sleep as much as possible.
Electronics like this emit blue spectrum light that tells their (and our) brains that they need to wake up and pay attention to what’s on the screen. This is terrible for their circadian rhythm because it keeps them awake for longer. In fact, it forces their brains to stop producing melatonin for a while, which makes them stay awake, no matter how tired they are.
With that in mind, keep electronics out of their bedrooms so that they are tempted to use them when they are supposed to be sleeping or when they are struggling to sleep. The same policy would do you some good as well.
